Beautiful Stranger

I don't care what my mother told me. Sometimes, it is okay to talk to strangers.

Like when it is minus a bagillion outside, and you've waited 20 minutes for a cab, give up, and decide it's probably faster just to walk home and feed your very hungry puppy....

And someone spies your poor wind-bitten face and shivering form, pulls over, and asks if you want a ride, wherever you are going.

Its things like that, little random acts of kindness, that I would likely be wary of "down south" that give the north its charm.

Kudos "Jon" ... I'll make sure to pass on the favour.

So, in general Jackie, your job involves talking to strangers. So I agree you will often have to disregard the advice intended for a young child.

However, I maintain you do have to be careful, no matter how old or where you are about accepting drives from strangers.

my husband is in Rankin now, waited 45 minutes for a taxi at the northern before deciding to walk back to his hotel. He had to drag a 20 kg bag of rice when someone asked if he wanted a ride. yes, its one of those random act of kindness.
